FDP Organized

The department organizes many faculty development programmes (FDPs) that have proven successful in improving teaching skills among faculty members. Faculty members are also encouraged to attend inter-college as well as intra-college FDPs. FDPs produce promising outcomes in learning and teaching practices. Teachers in higher education should attend FDP training activities on regular basis for collaboration, professional growth, management and leadership abilities.

Android Development

School of Computer Science – UG organized an FDP on 4th and 5th April 2019 for faculty members of all colleges affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam. The FDP is on the topic “Android Development” based on MG University revised syllabus, conducted by Mr. Bibin Benny, Senior Architect, Camelcase Techlab Pvt. In this FDP total 30 faculties have participated and they have learned through video lectures and explored the area on topic Android App using Java.

Data Analytics, R Tool

School of Computer Science – UG organized an FDP on 19th and 20th December 2016 for School of Computer Science teachers. The FDP was on the topic Data Analytics, R Tool conducted by Dr. M K Sabu, HoD, MES College Marampally. A total of 30 participants have attended the same.

R is a programming language and software environment for statistical analysis, graphics representation and reporting. This Faculty Development Programme (FDP) fulfilled its prime objective to bring the faculties of computer science onto one platform and to provide hands-on practice sessions on R. The objectives are to provide the faculty with an understanding of R Programming Language and Statistics. The learning outcomes include being able to identify R is a programming language and environment commonly used in statistical computing, data analytics and scientific research.
