Training & Skill Development Programmes

The Computer Science (UG) organizes various training programmes for the students to make them competitive, employable and confident enough to face the challenges in the real world. The School of Professional development gives intense training to the students to sharpen their soft skills. In addition to this, they also provide English Training to all the students. This helps them to get employment and also improve entrepreneurship skills.

Add on Course on “Dart Programming & Mobile App Development With Flutter” by Fortune Institute of Technology from November 27 2023.


Talk on “Latest Trends in IT Industry” by Ms. Rosbee Binny, Risk and Financial Analyst, Deloitte, on August 17 2023.

On 31st March 2022 at 10:00 am, the School of Computer Science(UG) of DiST organised an alumni talk on the topic “How to train yourself for a campus placement?”. The resource person was Ms. Alphonsa V B, Associate Analyst, Deloitte USI consulting.

The placement cell of School of Computer Science (UG) organized an alumni talk on 24/01/2022 at 10:00 AM on the topic “How to prepare for placements”. The session was handled by Ms. Suvarna Martin, Senior System Engineer, Infosys for the BCA20 and BCA21 batches.


A seminar on “How to Face an Interview” was organized on 09/12/21 at 12:15pm for BCA19 batch students which was handled by Mr. Raju Warrier, Asst. Prof. & Placement Coordinator, School of Commerce, DiST, as a part of REIZ’21 at 307 classrooms.


A talk on “What is research” was organized on 09/12/21 for BCA19 and BCA20 batch students. The talk was done by Rev. Fr.(Dr.) Robin Chittuparambil V.C., Vice Principal, and DiST as a part of REIZ’21 at DiST Mother Teresa block Hall.

As part of DeLight’21, on 6th December 2021 the placement cell of School of Computer Science (UG) in association with DiST Placements and Corporate Relations (DPCR) conducted a technical talk on “Working with cloud” by Mr. Deepak C Sebastian, Cloud Operations & Engineering Lead GS, SAP Labs, India.


A workshop on “Photoshop” was conducted on 17/11/21 and 18/11/21 for the BCA20 batch students. The workshop was handled by Mr. Akash V, Assistant Professor, School of Media and Communication, DiST, at UG lab.

A mock aptitude test and GD was conducted for the final year students of BCA department on 23 November 2021. The one hour test started at 11 am and ended at 12 pm. After the test, the students were given the GD topic “Climate change is the greatest threat faced by humanity”.

An Industrial Expert Interaction was held on 30th September 2021 on the topic “ How to train yourself to face the corporate world?” at 10.00 am for the BCA19 and BCA20 batches. The resource person of the Webinar was Mrs. Danisha Sajan, Senior Consultant of EY Global Delivery Service, Bangalore. The webinar began at 10.00 am with the faculties and students.

As part of the De buds 2021 the School of Computer Science (UG) conducted two days online orientation programme for the newly joined students of BCA21 batch from 29/09/2021 to 01/10/2021 at 9.30 am – 12.30 pm on various topics such as goal setting, usage of intranet, library usage, lab usage etc.

SCS(UG) conducted 8 days of online bridge course for BCA21 batch from 4th October 2021 – 13th October 2021 at 9.30 am – 11.30 am in Google meet students on various topics such as programming basics, computer hardware operating system, basics of MS Office tools and online learning.

As part of the placement training, an intradepartmental webinar on the topic “Resume Building” was conducted for the BCA19 batch students of DiST on June 28th. The resource person of the session was Mr. Giby George, Director Placements, School of Management.

As part of the placement training, an intradepartmental webinar on the topic “Goal Setting” was conducted for the BCA19 batch students of DiST on June 25th at 10 am – 12 pm. The resource person of the session was Mr. Joseph Paul, HOD School of Computer Science (PG).

Aptitude training for the BCA19 batch was conducted from 03/05/2021 to 24/05/2021. The 60 hours of the training were handled by Synergen Consultants.
