FDP’s & Workshops

Faculty Development Programs and workshops are interactive forums in modern day business world. At school of management it is used for dissemination of knowledge and build-up of skills. Seminars at school of management have an introductory session, a keynote address, different sessions, panel discussions and concluding sessions. While the specialist speakers and experts make their presentations, the participants (especially students and teachers) interact and benefit from the question-and-answer sessions. Faculty Development Program (FDP) at DiST is conducted for a small group people to learn basic skills on specific activities. Workshops bring together a group of people working on a particular project or area of interest.

  • On 5th and 6th of July 2013, DiST School of management conducted an FDP on SPSS. Prof Dr. Saji Thazhumkal was the resource person for the program. The faculty members of school of management were the participants.
  • A workshop on Research methods and data analysis with SPSS was held on 27th and 28th June 2014. Prof. Dr. Ramkumar T.B., Rtd. HoD, Dept. of Statistics, St. Thomas College, Thrissur and Prof. Dr. Saji Thazhungal, Professor, Post Graduate Department of Commerce and Management, Govt. Arts and Science College, Thrissur were the resource persons. Around 25 faculties from different colleges participated.
  • A two day workshop on research methodology was conducted on October 6th and 7th 2017.The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. A. Ramachandran, Vice Chancellor, KUFOS. First session (Day-1) was handled by Dr. Wilson P.R and in his session he emphasized the importance of identification ad validation of problem in any research studies. Second session (Day-1) Prof. Dr. Hareesh N Ramanathan, Director Toc H Institute of Science and Technology explained Research Design in a lucid manner using examples drawn from the real life situations in social sciences. Prof. Dr, Sam Thomas, CUSAT in the afternoon of the first day explained the concept and analysis of Regression Analysis, one of the most important analytical tool used in research in a very simple way. Day 2 Prof. Dr. Sreejesh SS, CUSAT during the day explained the theory and application of Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Structural Equation Modelling using SPSS and Amos. Total of 23 research scholars and academicians attended the workshop and they were given certificates of participation by Prof. Dr. Sreejesh at the end of the two day workshop.
  • With the rapid globalisation and opening up of the Indian economy, "Intellectual Capital" has become one of the key wealth drivers in the present international trade. School of Management organized a one day workshop on Indian Intellectual Property Rights on January 16,2019. Anjana Girish, Asst.Prof., Centre for IPR Studies, CUSAT, Dr. Athira P.S., Director(i/c), Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, NUALS Dr. Anson C.J., Research Officer, Centre for IPR Studies, CUSAT were the resource persons.
  • A one day workshop on IPR was organized by School of Management on 16th January 2019. Dr. Anson C.J, Research Officer, Center of IPR Studies, CUSAT, Dr. Athira P.S., Director, Center of IPR, NUALS, Ms. Anjana Gireesh, Asst. Prof. Center of IPR Studies, CUSAT were the resource persons. The workshop was attended and appreciated by all the participants.
  • School of Management in association with IQAC had conducted a national level webinar on Tuesday 10th August 2021. The topic of the webinar was HR2BH. The resource person of the webinar was Dr. K Latha, Associate Professor, CMS Business School, Jain Deemed to be university, Bengaluru.
