About IEDC

Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre(IEDC) is a flagship initiative of Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among students and academic fraternity in educational institutions of state of Kerala. We got the permission to start an IEDC Centre in our college on 2nd November 2021 and the College onboarded on IEDC website on 25th November 2021. The programs we conducted are as follows:

Workshop on Data Science & Machine Learning

IEDC DiST Organized a workshop on “Cyber security and Ethical Hacking” in association with School of Computer Science (PG) on 16/12/22 and 17/06/22 for MCA21 and IMCA18 batch students. The workshop was conducted by Revertech IT Solutions, Ernakulum. The workshop was handled by Ms.Udayalakshmi S U and Mr.Farhan Najeeb at UG lab.
fourty two students attended the hands on workshop. The first day was started with a welcome speech by Dr. Sneha Prakash, Nodal Officer of IEDC DiST. This workshop mainly focused on to provide the basics Data science and machine Learning methods. The work shop ended with a small project done by students in the same concept.

Workshop on 'Design Thinking'

IEDC DiST Organized a workshop on “DESIGN THINKING” on 13/12/22 for IEDC students. The workshop was handled by Mr. C. S Manu Francis Startup consultant, at St. Vincent Block Seminar Hall. It was coordinated by IEDC Quality and operations Lead Midhun Michael from IMCA19 Batch.
138 students attended the hands on workshop. The day was started with an inaugural function, Dr. Sneha Prakash, Nodal Officer of IEDC DiST welcomed the gathering.it was inaugurated by Rev.Fr.(Dr.) Johny Chacko Mangalath VC, Principal DiST, Mr. Shobin Thomas, Asst.Nodal officer IEDC, DiST introduced the Resource person. Mr. Midhun Michael, Quality &Operations lead delivered vote of thanks. The official function ended with Depaul anthem. Mr. C. S Manu Francis handled the workshop. This workshop was conducted with an aim to remove the road blocks in our student’s startup dreams.

Workshop on 'Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking'

IEDC DiST Organized a workshop on “Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking” in association with School of Computer Science (UG) on 22/09/22 and 23/09/22 for BCA21 batch students. The workshop was conducted by TechByHeart team Ernakulam. The first day was handled by Mr. Asad Sabu and Mr. Aswin Krishna, and Second day by Mr. Danoop, at UG lab. It was coordinated by Asst. Prof. Jitha Jose in cooperated with the staffs in the department and IEDC Technology Lead Emil Jose from IMCA18 Batch.
63 students attended the hands on workshop. The first day was started with an inaugural function, Ms. Ambily Pramitha, HOD, SCS (UG) welcomed the gathering.it was inaugurated by Rev. Fr.(Dr.) Johny Chacko Mangalath VC, Principal DiST, Asst. Prof.Dr. Sneha Prakash, Nodal Officer of IEDC DiST felicitated the gathering. This workshop mainly focused on to provide the basics of processing of files and information and different hacking methods. Students.

IEDC Visit

IEDC DiST Organized an IEDC visit on 24th August 2022. A total of 23 students and Assistant nodal officer of IEDC, DIST. Mr. Shobin Thomas visited Integrated Startup Complex (ISC)-KSUM at Kerala Technology Innovation Zone, Kalamassery, and Kochi. The visit was very fruitful.

Entrepreneurship Awareness

IEDC DiST organized an entrepreneurship awareness program on 2nd July 2022 at 10:30 am and venue was open auditorium. The program was arranged as a program for general public. The resource Person of the day was Mr. Chandran T. S, Deputy Director (Rtd), Industries & Commerce Department, Kerala. Vice principal of DiST, Fr. Mathew Malieckal welcomed the resource person to the program. The talk was very informative .The programmed ended at 12:00pm. Our Vice Principal Fr Mathew Malieckal Presented a Memento to the Chief Guest as a token of our Gratitude.

Innovator Talk(i-Talk)

IEDC DiST Organized i-Talk – Talk by an Innovator on 30th June 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:30 pm at DiST Seminar Hall. The Resource person for the day was Mr. Unnikrishnan P. G, Founder & CEO, The Green Meat. The programme began with prayer song sung by our students. Nodal officer of IEDC Dr. Sneha Prakash welcomed the Gathering. The Event was Presided by Our Principal Fr.(Dr.) Johny Chacko Mangalath V C, Our Vice Principal Rev.Fr. Mathew Malieckal V C delivered a speech about importance of Innovation in our lives. Assistant Nodal Officer Mr. Shobin Thomas introduced our resource person to the audience. Our principal Fr.(Dr.) Johny Chacko Mangalath V C presented a memento to the Chief Guest as a token of our gratitude.IEDC Technology Lead Mr. Emil Jose proposed vote of thanks to all the guest.This event was organized as a motivation for our IEDC student members.

IEDC Orientation Talk

IEDC cell of DiST had organized an orientation program for all students of the college on 29th & 30th November 2021 from 12:30pm to 3:30pm at DiST Seminar Hall. The program was conducted to give orientation to our students about IEDC and its functions. we conducted the program department wise. On first day 29th November 2021 we conducted the program for PGCS department, Management department and English department. On second day 30th November 2021 we conducted the program for UGCS department, Commerce department and Media and Communication department. we motivated interested students to join IEDC as members. The orientation talks were handled by IEDC DiST Nodel officer Dr. Sneha Prakash.

Cake Fest

IEDC DiST Organized a Cake Fest on 23rd December 2021.This event was organized as a motivation for our student bakers turned entrepreneurs. The event was conducted as a part of Christmas Celebrations of our college.

IEDC Inaugration

As a new IEDC we inaugurated IEDC centre at our college on 20th December 2021 at 2:00pm . Mr. Prajul Vishnu KL, techonology fellow IEDC, and Ms. Maria Kuriakose founder of Brand “THENGA” were the chief guests. We also Inaugurated our office on the same day and the inaugurator was Mr.Prajul Vishnu K.L.Ms.Maria Kuriakose interacted with our students. She explained how she identified the problem and came up with an innovative solution.
