"Where Speakers Emerge"
Debate & Public Speaking Club is one of the clubs of De Paul Institute of Science & Technology. DiST has accepted a system that caters to the overall growth of its student community during the course of its two decades of existence. Through various venues, it has developed and promoted academic and non-academic areas. DiST clubs are one such initiative, with the Debate & Public Speaking club founded to assist students in honing their debate and public speaking skills.
To empower students to become more effective communicators and leaders.
To provide various opportunities for students to develop their public speaking skills.
By completing a registration form, any DIST student (both UG and PG) can join the Debate & Public Speaking Club. Their membership will last for the duration of their studies at DiST. If a student chooses to cancel their membership, they must submit a written request to the faculty coordinator. For the time being, membership is free. If a financial requirement emerges for whatever reason, it must be presented to management for approval, and the decision may be modified accordingly after getting approvals.
A general body meeting of all club members will be held to elect office bearers for the coming academic year. A committee of 11 people will be formed. Each office bearer's duties and responsibilities shall be conveyed in writing. The office bearers are expected to work with faculty coordinators in order to achieve their goals. The members are chosen in a democratic manner.
The student committee will be in charge of organising all of the club's meetings. DiST Debate & Public Speaking Club committee members should meet at least once a month to plan events for the coming month and assess the preceding month's performance. These meetings must be properly documented and minutes must be kept.
If a particular decision needs to be made or events need to be planned, a general body meeting of all members may be called. All of this communication may be done through a WhatsApp group.
