Master of Communication & Journalism is a two-year Postgraduate programme that aims in training the students in the field of Journalism and Media Studies. The program is of four semesters that teaches various media topics like News Reporting, Business Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, Film Studies, and Electronic Journalism (Television and Radio). The students of MA JMC will be trained in Newspaper Production and they have to mandatorily complete one month internship in any media field in the fourth semester. MA JMC programme also offers Media research as a subject where the students have to do a research project in any media field.

Programme Objective

The main objective of the MA JMC programme is to prepare students for the exciting profession of Journalism, by meaningfully combining media theory and practice. The finished products are supposed to be socially responsible and responsive for the larger good of the people whom they serve, through the profession of Journalism.

Eligibility

Candidates for the MA JMC programme shall have been passed any degree examination of Mahatma Gandhi University with 45% marks or any examination recognized by it as equivalent there to. 5% relaxation in marks is given for SC/ST candidates. They shall be required to pass an Entrance Test- written and oral for admission or any other methodology adopted by the University. The process of selection will be subject to the rules and regulations regarding the reservation.
